Weekly Post: March 26th – 30th

Holy Week QuoteThis is the beginning of Holy Week and a great opportunity to speak with your students about Easter which is arguably the most important time in our Catholic calendar. Thank you to Magda-Lena and Patricia for taking the lead on the Stations of the Cross around the Learning Commons. Please sign up and take your class around for a time of quiet reflection and prayer. There are explanations of the stations underneath them.

As I mentioned at the staff meeting we have $15,000 to spend on the St. George learning environment. If you would like to be part of the discussion, there will be a meeting at 8:30Am on Thursday, April 5th. Please feel to come and add your 10cents. Here is an article that is really great on Upgrading your classroom design that you may find interesting. These ideas don’t even cost any money. Well, most of them anyway!

There is an Education Week meeting Monday morning. If you are interested in helping out stop on by the ESL Room.

St. George has received its staffing for the 2018-19 school year. We are increasing our staffing by 1.5 teachers for the upcoming school year. Great news! I have to have our school organization in the HR by April 3rd. By April 10th teaching staff need to be provided with a preliminary assignment for next year.

Think about what you want to teach next year. On Tuesday we will have a short, optional, staffing meeting so everyone can see the proposed school organization. You can all have a look and let me know your preferences based on the proposed organization. I will send out the 2018/19 Teaching Preferences Survey after the meeting.

Here is how the week is looking:

Monday: Education Week Meeting 8:45AM in ESL Room

Tuesday: Optional Staffing Meeting 8:45AM

Wednesday: Gr. 6 Notre Dame Visit, Stations of the Cross

Holy Thursday: Math Fest in the AM, Chew 4 Clean Water, Stations of the Cross,

Good Friday: no school
